What is GoLine, and who runs it?

GoLine is Indian River County's bus system, 14 fixed routes from Fellsmere and Sebastian to Vero Beach and the Oslo Road corridor, run for the county by the Senior Resource Association and free to ride.

Riders do not pay a fare. GoLine asks passengers to make a donation instead, and every vehicle in the fleet is wheelchair accessible (Riding GoLine). The ADA Services page names the Senior Resource Association as the county's transit operator and offers Community Coach door-to-door service alongside the fixed routes (GoLine ADA Services).

The GoLine office is at 694 14th Street in Vero Beach, phone 772.569.0760, and questions, compliments or complaints go to (772) 569-0903 on weekdays (GoLine). Live bus positions show on the Where's my bus map and in the TransLoc app for Android and Apple phones.

When do GoLine buses run?

GoLine's home page lists weekday service from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday service on most routes from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and the system shuts down only on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.

Other holidays keep the regular schedule (Riding GoLine). The Riding GoLine page is not fully consistent on Saturdays: one paragraph says Saturday service runs 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while the operating hours box on the same page and on the GoLine home page say 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on most routes. The county's 2025 Transit Development Plan update explains the gap: Saturday service grew from twelve routes running 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to thirteen routes running 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., although the plan's own route table still lists 8 AM to 7 PM for Saturdays (Indian River County MPO 2025 TDP Annual Update). Riders planning a Saturday trip in Vero Beach or Sebastian can confirm on the information line.

Within those hours most routes leave their starting point every hour. Route 10 is the early bird: its first bus leaves Sonrise Apartments at 5:50 a.m. and its last at 8:50 p.m., 16 departures a day (GoLine Route 10). Route 12 leaves the Barber Street Publix hourly from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. but skips the 3:00 p.m. trip (GoLine Route 12). Route 15 runs six trips a day: buses leave the IG Center at 7:00, 8:00 and 9:00 in the morning and 3:00, 4:00 and 5:00 in the afternoon (GoLine Route 15).

GoLine asks riders to reach the stop about 5 minutes before the scheduled time and wait next to the bus stop sign, because drivers stop only at the sign and may not leave the scheduled route (Riding GoLine).

Which GoLine routes serve which parts of Indian River County?

The 14 GoLine routes fan out from the Main Transit Hub in Vero Beach, the North County Transit Hub serving Sebastian and Fellsmere, the Indian River Mall, the Gifford Health Center and the South County IG Center.

In south county, four routes start at the IG Center: Routes 4, 6, 7 and 15. Route 4 runs along Oslo Road past South Vero Plaza and up U.S. 1 and Indian River Boulevard to the Main Transit Hub (GoLine Route 4), and Route 15 crosses the St. Lucie County line to the Indian River State College Main Campus in Fort Pierce, reaching it 30 minutes after leaving (GoLine Route 15; 2025 TDP).

Route 13 carries GoLine west along the SR 60 corridor. It leaves the Indian River Mall hourly, stops at the IRSC Mueller Campus and Indian River Charter High School, and runs out SR 60 and 82nd and 90th Avenues to Vero Fashion Outlets (GoLine Route 13). Route 2 links the same mall with the Main Transit Hub along 20th Street (GoLine Route 2).

North county has four routes. Route 5 starts at Orlando Health Sebastian River Hospital (GoLine Route 5), Route 9 links the North County Hub with Sebastian River High School, CR 510 and 58th Avenue down to the mall (GoLine Route 9), Route 10 brings Fellsmere riders in along SR 512, and Route 12 covers south Sebastian, as the county's 2025 Transit Development Plan describes them (Indian River County MPO). Route 11, which the transfer list still pairs with Route 12 at U.S. 1 and Barber Street, does not appear in the home page route list.

Where do GoLine routes connect?

GoLine routes meet at six transfer points, timed on the hour or half hour, with the Main Transit Hub in Vero Beach joining six routes and the North County Transit Hub joining four.

Read together, the transfer list and schedules give one routing from Sebastian to the 16 Ave (Courthouse) stop in Vero Beach: Route 5 or Route 12 to the North County Transit Hub, Route 9 to the Indian River Mall, then Route 2, which lists that stop on its run from the Main Transit Hub back toward the mall (Riding GoLine; Route 2). Riders from Fellsmere switch from Route 10 at the same north county hub. For riders without access to a GoLine bus stop, a door-to-bus stop connector is available.

What are the rules for riding GoLine?

GoLine requires shirts and shoes, bans smoking, profanity, food and drink on board, allows radios only with headphones, and requires riders under 12 to travel with an adult.

Every passenger has to be able to board, get off and carry packages without help, and all purchases must come on and off the bus in one boarding; large items that block the aisle or must be carried overhead are not allowed (Riding GoLine). Breaking a rule can lead to removal or denial of service, and GoLine reserves the right to deny service for probable cause. Under the ADA, all GoLine buses are wheelchair accessible and bus operators provide assistance on request (GoLine ADA Services).

How does Community Coach door-to-door service work?

Community Coach is the Senior Resource Association's shared-ride, door-to-door service for Indian River County residents whose disability keeps them off the GoLine fixed routes, booked in advance at 772.569.0903.

Each applicant goes through an eligibility determination, and information, applications and requests for reasonable modification go to 772-569-0903 (GoLine ADA Services). Visitors to Indian River County get 21 days of ADA service when they show proof of ADA eligibility from their home community.

The Senior Resource Association decides eligibility within 21 business days of a complete application; if it misses that window, the applicant is treated as eligible until a decision is made (Senior Resource Association Community Coach). Rides go to medical appointments, shopping and entertainment, with stops along the way for other riders. Non-emergency medical visits take priority and seats are first come, first served. A registered personal care attendant rides at no cost on the same reservation. The vehicles take wheelchairs up to 30 inches wide and 48 inches long.

Community Coach runs the same hours as GoLine, Monday to Friday 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with no rides on Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's Day; the association's office at 694 14th Street in Vero Beach is open weekdays 8:30am to 5:00pm (Senior Resource Association).
