The Melbourne Art Festival is a two-day juried art show held each spring in Melbourne. The most recent edition with a confirmed date was the 41st Melbourne Art Festival, held April 25 and 26, 2026 at Wickham Park, according to WFIT. In the same April 16, 2026 listing the Florida Tech public radio station described the show as a fully volunteer-staffed event held each year on the fourth weekend of April at Wickham Park in Melbourne, Florida.

Admission and parking at Wickham Park were both free for the 2025 festival, ClickOrlando reported on April 25, 2025, and the same report put annual attendance at around 30,000 people. No source consulted for this page announces the date of the 2027 Melbourne Art Festival. The fourth weekend of April pattern described by WFIT is the only scheduling guidance available as of October 2026, and the organizer's own website did not load when this page was researched.

Wickham Park is a large Brevard County park in north Melbourne. The Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail, a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission program, lists it at 2500 Parkway Dr., Melbourne, FL 32935 with a size of 478 acres, open daily from sunrise to sunset, with camping and horseback riding among its amenities. The trail page describes scrubby flatwoods that hold resident Florida Scrub-Jays, open playing fields and a large pond near the multi-use trailhead.

The festival uses only part of that ground. ClickOrlando's 2025 preview reported that the artists showcase their work around the back lake at Wickham Park, alongside the food court, with live music running from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the Saturday. For the 38th festival in 2023, ClickOrlando gave the hours as 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 22 and 23 and noted live music on the Lexus Stage.

Sunshine Artist, the art fair trade magazine, explains the reason for the location in its listing for the April 2022 show. The festival, it says, was previously held in the busy downtown area of Melbourne and expanded to Wickham Park, which offers a spacious setup and walking areas. The listing does not give the year of the move.

Yes. Through at least its 28th edition the show filled the streets of downtown Melbourne near the Indian River Lagoon. Space Coast Living previewed the April 24 and 25, 2010 festival as a nationally recognized event held annually in historic downtown Melbourne, with more than 200 artists from around the country showing paintings, graphics, sculpture and photography.

The downtown weekend opened with a road race. Space Coast Living reported that the 2010 Melbourne Art Festival 5K Flamingo Run started at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, that it was the largest 5K race in Brevard County, and that its certified course started in Historic Downtown Melbourne, crossed the Melbourne Causeway and returned, so runners climbed the causeway bridge twice. Free park and ride buses ran from Florida Marketplace on South Babcock Street in Melbourne and from the 800 block of A1A in Indialantic.

The 2012 edition was the last downtown show documented in the sources consulted. WFIT announced the 28th Annual Melbourne Art Festival for April 28 and 29, 2012 in historic downtown Melbourne, with over 250 juried artists competing for cash prizes, 60,000 guests expected, the Georgia Satellites headlining Saturday night and WFIT 89.5 FM among the sponsors. By April 2019, WFIT's notice for the 35th annual festival placed the show at Wickham Park.

WFIT listed the 35th annual Melbourne Art Festival for April 27 and 28, 2019 and described it as volunteer run and held on the last full weekend of April. Sunshine Artist's listing shows an April 23, 2022 start at Wickham Park, and its 2024 listing shows a start date of April 27, 2024, with artist applications open from Sept. 1, 2023 to a Dec. 31, 2023 deadline.

ClickOrlando reported on April 17, 2023 that the 38th Melbourne Art Festival would have more than 200 fine art and jewelry booths at Wickham Park. WFIT then announced the 40th festival for April 26 and 27, 2025, and the 41st for April 25 and 26, 2026. The festival's own figures for the years before 2019 could not be checked because its website did not load for this research.

The numbering is internally consistent across these Melbourne sources: the 28th show fell in 2012, the 35th in 2019 and the 38th in 2023. The sources consulted do not state the year of the first festival, so this page does not give one.

Family programming has been part of the Melbourne show since at least 2010. Space Coast Living described free workshops led by participating artists for children ages 6 to 13 and a Kids World area for ages 3 to 12 at the downtown festival. ClickOrlando reported in 2023, citing the festival's website, that scholarships for qualifying Brevard County arts students are funded by the Melbourne Art Festival Scholarship Art Auction, and that the festival had contributed over $95,000 to students, teachers and visual programs in local schools. In 2010 the Flamingo Run's proceeds were directed to promoting artistic endeavors, education and appreciation in Brevard County.

The festival's standing comes from art fair trade rankings rather than city designation. ClickOrlando reported in April 2023, citing the festival's website, that the Melbourne show was ranked 80th of outdoor fine art shows in the nation by Sunshine Artist and was designated a Top 20 Event by the Southeastern Tourism Society. Sunshine Artist's own listing calls it a fine art and fine craft show that is consistently among the top-rated festivals in Florida in its 200 Best rankings, and listed a $37.00 application fee for artists applying to the 2022 Wickham Park show.

Attendance estimates have shifted with the venue. WFIT expected 60,000 guests downtown in 2012, while ClickOrlando gave a figure of around 30,000 a year for the Wickham Park festival in 2025. The two numbers come from different years and different reporters, and neither source explains how the count was made.
