Mint or Print · Series 001 · Official Rules
Read with the Series 001 page. Where the two differ, these rules control.
1. What this is
Mint or Print is a free game inside Local Rips, on Digital Towns. Players take rips from a sealed pool of 1,000,000. Most rips are Contams. 1,111 rips are hits that award a digital collectible card from Series 001.
Series 001 is free to play. There is no fee to rip in Series 001 and no way to buy rips in it.
2. Who can play
You must be 18 or older and a Digital Towns account holder. An email address is enough to sign up and to rip. A verified mobile number is required to claim a card you hit — see §6. One account per person. Void where prohibited by law.
3. Rips
- 5 rips per day for every eligible player. The day resets at midnight Arizona time.
- +1 rip per day for sharing a pull to your Instagram story through the share button. One share credit per day.
- +5 rips for every person you refer. Referral rips are credited once the referred player has both taken their first rip and verified a mobile number, whichever happens last. They do not expire, and there is no cap.
- Unused daily rips do not carry over.
4. Vendor codes
Approved vendors receive a code. A player may enter a vendor's code; it applies to their rips until they change it. A player may change or clear the code they are ripping under at any time.
If a rip made with a vendor's code hits, the vendor receives a Vendor Set copy of that card stamped with the vendor's name and town. Vendor codes do not change the odds of any rip.
5. The pool
The pool of 1,000,000 rips was shuffled once with a secret seed before the first rip and sealed. The SHA-256 hash of the sealed pool is published on the Series 001 page. Series 001 closes when the last of the 1,111 hits is pulled, whether or not every rip in the pool has been taken; at that moment the seed is published and the pool can be independently verified. The pool cannot be reshuffled, extended, or edited.
Rips are taken in order from the sealed pool. The outcome of every rip is determined the moment the pool is sealed, not the moment the rip is taken.
6. Hits
- A hit is recorded the moment it is pulled. The card face is shown, the serial is assigned, and the pull is written to the public record.
- Claiming. A card is held on your account until you claim it. Claiming requires a verified mobile number. Until then the card is yours, listed in your binder as unclaimed, and nobody else can be issued that serial.
- Unclaimed cards do not expire. There is no deadline and no forfeit. The serial is already spent and the supply already reduced; the card waits as long as you take.
- Minting, printing and store display are available on claimed cards only.
- Three records are written for every hit: the ripper's copy, the Artist Proof to MGU, and, where a vendor code was used, that vendor's Vendor Set copy. Vendor and Artist Proof copies are not subject to claiming.
7. The public record
Every hit is posted to the public hit log with the card, serial, tier, town, the player's first name, and the time. Vendor Set copies show the vendor's name. This record is permanent and is not removed on request, except where required by law.
Contams are not posted. The remaining-rips counter and remaining supply per card are public and live.
8. Ownership and what comes next
A card in your binder is yours. Digital Towns does not charge holders for anything they do with a Series 001 card.
Minting and printing are not available at launch. When they open, the decision is made per card by the card's holder. Until then, cards remain in the holder's Digital Towns account. Holders with a Digital Towns store may display their cards there.
MGU holds the Artist Proofs and may do with them as any holder may.
9. Fair play
One account per person. Referral rips are credited only for real, verified people. Accounts found to be duplicated, automated, or shared will have rips and cards voided and may be removed. Digital Towns' decisions on fair play are final.
10. Changes and closing
These rules, the tier structure, card supply, and the sealed pool will not change for the life of Series 001. Digital Towns may change rules 2, 3, 4, and 9 to comply with law or prevent abuse; any such change is posted with a date and applies going forward only.
Series 001 closes when the last rip is taken. Nothing is added to it afterward.
Changelog
- 2026-08-22 — Deferred phone verification. A mobile number is no longer required to sign up or to rip. Every eligible player gets the full 5 rips per day with an email address alone. A verified mobile number is now required only to claim a card you have hit; unclaimed cards are held indefinitely and do not expire. Referral credit now requires the referred player to have verified a mobile number as well as taken a first rip. The sealed pool, the odds and the published pool hash are unchanged by this amendment.
Vendor Terms
Who can apply
Any vendor operating in Arizona that sells trading cards, collectibles, or plants in person. Applications are reviewed and approved by hand. A referral from an already-approved vendor is considered in your favor.
What you get
A vendor code and QR. A Vendor Set copy of every card hit with your code, stamped with your name and town, held in your vendor binder on Digital Towns.
What you agree to
Display your code only at your own counter, table, or event. Don't post your code publicly or distribute it online. Don't offer anything of value in exchange for rips with your code. Codes found outside these terms are retired.
Vendor Set copies are yours. Digital Towns does not charge you for anything you do with them.
Approval and removal
Digital Towns may decline any application without stating a reason and may retire a code for violations of these terms. Vendor Set copies already awarded are not removed.
